Job Description
About the Role
The role of Facilities Officer Is a hands-on role responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all BDAC facilities and assets. The role will follow the direction of the Facilities Team Leader and Infrastructure & Assets Manager to undertake a range of tasks related to facilities management, maintenance, fleet management, contractor coordination, event support and OHS, including incidents and safety. This role will have a primary focus on facilities management and maintenance.
Some Key Responsibilities
Facilities
Deliver routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs of all BDAC facilities and infrastructure.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of plant, equipment and facilities.
Assist in coordinating and overseeing external contractors or vendors when needed.
Assist with the coordination of on-site parking and traffic management.
Assist with security and safety management, including regular checks of alarm systems, gates, cameras and safety equipment, and supporting staff awareness.
Ensure entrances, driveways, parking areas and paved surfaces are clean and well maintained, and support gardening tasks when required.
Deliver event logistic to support BDAC in delivering enjoyable, friendly and safe events.
Assets
Maintain assets registers and maintenance schedules.
Organise assets and equipment required for events.
Assist in maintaining the plant and equipment asset registers.
Assist in logging plant and equipment on issue and managing the return of plant and equipment.
Assist in informing and maintaining adequate plant and equipment inventory levels (e.g. furniture, events assets, vehicles, etc).
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
Demonstrated provision of customer-focused service delivery and responsiveness to internal expectations.
Demonstrated skills that align with skilled labourer/handyman role.
Sound understanding of building services and infrastructure
Excellent communication and people skills.
Ability to take initiative, being able to spot issues, recommend practical solutions, and implement them.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Flexibility with demonstrated willingness to adapt to different situations and tasks on a day-to-day basis.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices.
Well-developed skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Education, Training and/or Competencies
Preferred/Desired
Trades experience relevant to facilities.
Demonstrated knowledge and cross-cultural sensitivity of Aboriginal culture and Aboriginal community needs.
Knowledge of facilities management systems, and plant and equipment commonly found in commercial buildings.
Previous experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.
