BDAC is an ACCO (Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation) registered as a member under the umbrella of VACCHO (Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation) and represented nationally through NACCHO (National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation).

BDAC was founded to represent and provide services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living on Djaara Country.

BDAC has a responsibility to ensure growth of services, development of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, better and improved health outcomes for our people, improved quality of life and be a lead agency in providing self-determination employment and career pathways for Aboriginal people.

Job Description

To support the Finance Team by providing accurate and timely administrative and financial assistance while developing practical skills and knowledge through a structured traineeship, contributing to the effective operation of the organisation and supporting culturally safe, community-focused service delivery.

Applicant must be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. This is a designated Aboriginal position under Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.

What you will bring

 

  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Eagerness to learn and complete a certificate or diploma.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet timeframes.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Being an engaged student:

  • Undertake a Certificate III in Business Administration.
  • Ensure you stay up to date with your studies, including making sure all set assessment tasks are completed on time.
  • Attend all online or face to face classes or tutorials with your education provider.
  • Be an engaged learner during on-the-job training.

Desired Skills and Experience

Mandatory Education, Training and/or Competencies

  • Completed year 10.
  • Commitment to Complete a Certificate III Business Certificate.
